Every day on TV and social media we see studies that show the importance of exercising. However, it can be difficult to fit exercise into your daily schedule with the hustle and bustle of work, kids, friends, family.
In our newest blog, we discuss some simple workouts you can incorporate into your daily routine.
The following suggestions come from Dr. Laskowski, M.D. from Mayo Clinic.
Aerobic Activity:
It is important to get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week, or a combination of moderate and vigorous activity. The guidelines suggest that you spread out this exercise during the course of a week. Greater amounts of exercise will provide even greater health benefit. But even small amounts of physical activity are helpful. Being active for short periods of time throughout the day can add up to provide health benefit.
Strength Training:
Do strength training exercises for all major muscle groups at least two times a week. Aim to do a single set of each exercise, using a weight or resistance level heavy enough to tire your muscles after about 12 to 15 repetitions.
So, here are some quick at home exercises that can be completed in just 15 minutes
- 2 sets of 20 jumping jacks
- 2 sets of 10 squats
- 2 sets holding for 30 seconds
- 2 sets of 20 repetitions
- 10 push ups
These simple work outs can have a positive impact so you can do all the things you love while feeling great!
